The Telum 624/628-TEJ is a high performance, cost effective, 4 port (Telum 624-TEJ) or 8 port (Telum 628-TEJ) T1/E1/J1 AdvancedMC module designed for high availability Telecom edge access applications. This full-size module (628-TEJ)/ full-size or mid-size module (624-TEJ) features 4 or 8 independent, fully protected, full duplex ports. The x4 PCI Express (PCIe) serial fabric interface is used as the central data/control transport medium. The HDLC communication controller supports up to 128/256 channels with an integrated 32-bit/66 MHz PCI Bus interface. The HDLC controller supports the 4 or 8 full duplex T1/E1/J1 lines. This controller supports extracting HDLC frames, buffering these frames in local FIFOs, and transferring them to host memory through a PCI-to- PCIe Bridge. It will also support transparent mode. There is a microprocessor based CSU/DSU subsystem for network line management. There are multiple data loopback and diagnostics modes supported. There are two GbE GMII serial fabric interfaces to the AdvancedMC backplane connected to lanes 0 and 1. The second GbE port can be used in redundancy schemes. The Telum 624/628-TEJ gives customers a unique, high performance T1/E1/J1 WAN I/O solution for ATCA and MicroTCA systems.
