The PAC8000 Process Controller is a rugged, field-mountable control platform intended for those process applications that may have utilized programmable controllers (PLCs) in a distributed control environment or in a full DCS system. Proficy Process Systems with PAC8000 controllers presents a powerful and flexible Distributed Control System (DCS). With a broad process control function block library, peer-to-peer communications between controllers, the ability to handle program and I/O changes on the fly, HART pass through, and bumpless redundancy, the controllers provide the ideal platform for a contemporary DCS solution. Combined with the 8000 Process I/O system components, it offers cost savings over control room mounted systems as well as flexible system design and high system availability. PAC8000 Process Controllers are Open controllers and will work with off-the-shelf HMI packages, including iFIX and CIMPLICITY as well as others.
