WANic 56512

Mit WANic 56512, einem intelligenten hochleistungsfähigen Paketprozessor basierend auf dem Cavium OCTEON Plus-Multicore-Prozessor, können Anwendungen eine Ethernet-Netzwerkbandbreite von 10 GB durch Abgabe der Netzwerkverarbeitung an die Paketprozessorkarte wirkungsvoll unterstützen und somit die Leistung steigern. Der 56512-Paketprozessor ist ideal geeignet für IP-Kommunikationsnetzwerke und kann zur Unterstützung einer Vielzahl an Anwendungen konfiguriert werden, z. B. für anspruchsvolle Nachrichtenübermittlung für sicheren IP-Zugang.

Der WANic 56512 verfügt über einen 12-Core-Cavium OCTEON Plus CN5650-Prozessor mit bis zu 750 MHz und 2 MB gemeinsamen L2-Cache-Speicher, der eine Paketverarbeitungsgeschwindigkeit von bis zu 10 GB/Sekunde für Schichten 2-7 erreicht. Ein Hochgeschwindigkeits-DDR2-Paketspeicher von bis zu 4 GB wird unter Verwendung von VLP Mini-RDIMM-Modulen realisiert. Er bietet außerdem 32 MB DDR-SDRAM-Dauerspeicher zum Speichern von Statusinformationen. Eine bis zu 4 GB große Flash-Disk steht als Massenspeicher zur Verfügung.

Dieser Paketprozessor unterstützt Hochgeschwindigkeitskommunikation an den Host über eine vierspurige PCI-Express-Busschnittstelle. Er unterstützt auch zwei 10 GB-Ethernet SFP+-Tranceiver auf der Vorderseite mit Optionen für SR/LR-Faser oder Direct Attach-Kupferschnittstellen für die Leitungsverbindung.
